Waterford County Council and Dunhill Rural Enterprises Ltd are jointly sponsoring a ‘National Jobs Conference’ on Friday 23rd April at Dunhill Multi-Education Centre. Mr. Éamon Ó Cuív T.D, Minister for Social & Family Affairs, will address the conference which is being chaired by Ray O’Dwyer, Waterford County Manager. The main theme of the conference is ‘How New Enterprises and Jobs Can Be Created in Rural Ireland 2010-2016’.
The line up of speakers includes Carlene Weachock Moloney, a former Senior Marketing/Sales Executive with Waterford Crystal in the US, who will present on how gift products made in Ireland can be promoted and sold in the U.S. and Sarah Fleming from Slow Food International in Bra, Italy who will speak on how 100, 000 jobs were created in the Piedmont Region of Italy to replace the loss of Fiat jobs and how a similar transformation can be achieved in the South–East of Ireland. Other speakers include David Merideth of Teagasc, an expert on rural asset development.
